Guidelines and Requirements for Presentation at the Teaching and Learning Festival

Poster Presentation
  • The poster should demonstrate the progress and/or preliminary results of the TDG project.
  • If the presenter cannot stay for the entire session, he/she must submit a progress report instead.
  • An evaluation report on the TDG projects’ progress will be submitted to CDQA by TALIC.
  • The poster should demonstrate the output(s) from the TDG project.
  • The poster should be related to the theme of the Teaching & Learning Festival.
  • Presenters have to do a 1-minute pitch at the beginning of the poster showcases.
  • Presenters are expected to interact with attendees during the poster showcases, and must be present throughout the 90 minutes session.
Open Classroom Observation
  • The teaching session should demonstrate the progress and/or preliminary results of the TDG project.
  • An evaluation report on the TDG project’s progress will be submitted to CDQA by TALIC
  • The teaching session should demonstrate the output(s) from the TDG project.
  • Any staff members involved in teaching are welcome to open their classroom for observation.
  • The teacher must be available for a post-observation discussion with observers for no less than 30 minutes right after the class. This discussion will be facilitated by a TALIC staff member.
Workshop
  • The workshop must be designed with the objective of providing practical training to colleagues on the application of preliminary output(s) from the TDG project.
  • An evaluation report on the TDG project’s progress will be submitted to CDQA by TALIC.
  • The workshop must be designed with the objective of providing practical training to colleagues on the application of output(s) from a TDG project.
  • The workshop must be designed with the objective of providing practical training to colleagues on the application of output(s) from a teaching and learning related project.
The duration of the workshop should be at least one hour.
Seminar
  • The seminar presentation should demonstrate the progress and/or preliminary results of the TDG project.
  • The seminar presentation should demonstrate the output(s) from the TDG project.
  • The seminar presentation should be related to the theme of the Teaching & Learning Festival.
  • The successful organization of a seminar will depend on the number of teachers who choose this format of presentation.
  • The duration of the seminar should be at least one hour. In general, a seminar requires at least two speakers and every presenter is required to present a minimum duration of 20 minutes. If this requirement isn’t fulfilled, the principal investigator will have to select an alternative presentation format or deliver a one-hour seminar alone.
